Fill Your Life with Good Friends, Good Times & Good Food #KapitiFoodFair

Helene Judge from Kāpiti Food Fair

The Kapiti Food Fair is fast becoming an annual food & beverage event well known to vendors and visitors. We had a little under 10,000 visitors in 2016 and we are on a mission to reach well in to double figures in 2017.

Gate entry (cash only): <18 FREE, $5/adult or $10/adult including one of our lovely Fair jute shopping bags.

Relax in the licenced Tuatara Bar & wash down your foodie treats and shop to you drop for items to take home to your pantry or for gifts. The Bar is BYO food and children can enter as long as they are with your parent or guardian.

Talented local entertainers are booked to play and celebrity chef Jax Hamilton will delight the audience with recipes that are simple & full of flavour blending a bit of cockney with a pinch of Caribbean, and all served up on a kiwi plate!

Jax's demo starts at 11.30am in the PartyPerfect Celebrity Kitchen in the Pavilion Building. To get a seat it's best to start arriving from 11.15am. At the end of the demo Mayor Guru & Vicki Timpson of NZME will be taking her on a hosted walkabout of the Fair before she leaves at 2.15pm.

Parking: On-site or catch the train to Paraparaumu Station and board the free Kapiti Kruzer bus who will be doing an hourly circuit. Kapiti Kruzer will be meeting arriving trains at 10.09am, 11.09am, 12.09pm and 1.09pm. They will depart the Reserve to meet departing trains at 11.45am, 12.45pm, 1.45pm and 2.45pm.

If you are local, walk or ride your bike or catch the train from Waikanae and also board the free Kapiti Kruzer bus.

ATM cash on-site for visitors run by Kapiti Rotary.

Crowd friendly dogs on leads are welcome at the Fair.

The Hits Info Hub will operate during the Fair to answer any visitor questions and they will give away site maps and sell jute shopping bags for $6. They will also be handing out the Fair visitor survey slip that you can access from your smartphone with a QR code or URL.

We are under no illusion that the Fair is growing momentum and we want to continue exposing Kapiti as an ideal event location and to showcase local and NZ manufactured food & beverage, related F&B products and the united nations of ready to eat food to enjoy on the day.

The Celebrity Chef for 2017 is Jax Hamilton. Jax needs little introduction with her much-loved style and flair. Since appearing on our screens and winning the hearts of the nation during MasterChef Series 2 in 2011, Jax has set herself a hectic pace with guest appearances at numerous events, appearing regularly on Good Morning, radio spots and TV where she features on the Countdown supermarket adverts and in-store promotions. www.jaxhamilton.co.nz....

In 2016, the Fair hit the top 20 NZ food festival list which is super exciting, motivating and supportive of our growth strategy.

This Fair is a commercial event however we have a social agenda too. The Fair is supported by Kapiti Rotary on the day of the event and in return the Fair owners donate to the Kapiti Rotary Charitable Trust for distribution to agreed local charities.

In 2016, the Fair designed and produced a jute shopping bag to promote the Fair and sell to visitors at gate entry. This initiative will continue in 2017.

The Fair is a pre-Christmas event providing a commercial opportunity for vendors to package their products for visitors to sample, buy gifts or to simply stock-up their pantry at home. Previous Fairs have attracted vendors selling a variety of artisan and commercial food and beverages including chocolate, sweets, jam and condiments, sauces and dressings, dips and pesto, preserves, breads, baking, wines, beer, liqueurs, fruit juices, olive oils, ice cream, coffee, meat, honey, fruit and vegetables and a variety of ethnic foods. 2017 will be no exception to this.

Kapiti Food Fair is sponsored by Air New Zealand, Bayleys Real Estate Wellington, BCE Catering Equipment, Greenmantle Estate, Kapiti Business Projects, Kapiti News, KOAST Limoncello, PartyPerfect Catering, The Hits, Tuatara Brewing.

Kapiti Food Fair is a current recipient of the Kapiti Coast District Council Mayor Events Fund.

Kapiti Food Fair is supported by numerous local business in the time and reduced cost of services.

Kapiti Food Fair is privately owned and operated by Kapiti Business Projects and PartyPerfect Catering.

Save Te Horo Hall fundraiser

Julie from Otaki District

I am running a scavenger/treasure hunt, car rally event on 26th May to raise funds for the refurbishments needed to make the Te Horo Community Hall earthquake resilient.
Directions are given to follow a route and clues to identify markers along the way. There will also be a list of items to collect along the route.
This is intended as a family activity, although not exclusive; a group of friends would have equally as much fun. The cost is $40 per car; all funds go to the cause.
It would be really helpful to get an idea of numbers interested in this event. Please let me know, no commitment required, if this is of interest to you.
