Canada geese get the Flock Off message
Canada geese using a Kāpiti lake as a toilet have been told to Flock Off.
More than 200 geese have been calling Awatea Lake home, depositing up to 400 kilograms a day of poo into the lake.
A lack of action from the Kāpiti Coast District Council has infuriated some locals, resulting in a petition calling on the council to get rid of the birds.
The council recently responded by announcing it was trialing a bird repellent, Flock Off, as a short-term option, as it looks for a permanent solution.
Do you think Flock Off will work?

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
