Access to popular tramping areas closed
The Ōtaki Gorge Road remains closed at Blue Bluff, 12km from State Highway 1. The road is showing active signs of movement, and is at risk of slipping.
That is bad news for trampers accessing the Tararua Forest Park
The Department of Conservation is working to find alternative public access to the huts and tracks in the park.
