Get ready to have fun and move to the high-spirited and joyous live rhythms of West Africa! Simon Elwell will be accompanying the dancers with the djembe. This workshop is for anyone who loves to dance and will be pitched at beginner-intermediate level. No experience necessary.
Lala Simpson grew up in the exotic Island of Madagascar where she was immersed in the music and dance of her homeland and Africa. She is a joyful, energetic, passionate and a very clear and patient teacher. Lala has been leading workshops for International Dance Day at Te Papa for the past seven years, has taught West African dance classes in Wellington, has led dance workshops at various festivals including Just So Family Festival.
