We still have some 'Kimber' Zucchini, which are self-fertile and will set fruit even if the bees are not around to pollinate. Also a selection from our regular Zucchini varieties (13 in total this year with some interesting new additions), including Striato, Fiorentino and the very popular Costata Romanesco, all grown from imported Italian seed.
These are strong, well-established plants, ready to go in the ground now.
Altogether we grow over 60 types of mostly heirloom tomatoes in a range of sizes and colours to suit every taste and growing situation, be it open garden, greenhouse or veggie pod.
While some seed merchants promote hybrid varieties over heirloom, we have found that heirloom seed generally germinate more reliably and produce stronger, healthier seedlings. And have far superior flavour!! There is after all good reason why families have passed down their seed from generation to generation for sometimes hundreds of years!

Your computer isn’t going to stop working.
At Compserve, we’ve helped Kapiti residents through every Windows transition since the days of Windows XP. Here’s what the end of Windows 10 support really means, what protection you’ll still have, and how you can stay secure and supported.
🛑 What Does “End of Support” Actually Mean?
Microsoft will officially end mainstream security updates for Windows 10 in October 2025.
That means they’ll stop releasing new security patches and feature updates — but your existing system will keep working exactly as it does today.
You’ll still be able to:
✅ Start up and use your computer normally
✅ Browse the internet, watch videos, and check emails
✅ Print, scan, and use your existing apps and files
So, nothing will suddenly break or stop working when the deadline arrives.
🔒 Windows 10 Will Still Offer Basic Protection
Even after October 2025, Windows 10 continues to include powerful built-in protections:

Our CBDs have been making headlines lately – they’re not quite the bustling hearts of our cities they once were, with more people flocking to malls instead. The big question is, what do you think should be the focus of a revitalised city centre?

Thank you to all of you who voted. We don’t mind waiting if it means more of you participated in local democracy.
Preliminary results, reflect about 95% of votes returned but do not include special votes. These give us a good indication of what our Council, Community Boards and the Māori Ward referendum might look like. But it is important to note, final results are not expected until Friday 17 October.
👉Preliminary results provisionally indicate the Kapiti Coast Māori Ward will remain in place for the 2028 and 2031 local elections.
👉Preliminary results show Janet Holborow re-elected as Mayor for the 2025–2028 triennium.
👉There are a couple of changes from yesterday’s progress results. These are for the Kapiti Coast Māori Ward and the Waikanae Community Board.
Full preliminary results for Council, community board seats, and the Māori ward are now available - www.kapiticoast.govt.nz...
