Homeless or about to be Homeless

Donna from Otaki District

A checklist for those who are homeless or just about to be homeless.
Contact WINZ and ask to be put on the Emergency Housing list
If you are looking like nowhere to go and only have two or three days left contact WINZ again. If you ring and keep getting disconnected then call into your local office.
If anyone has any other ideas of how they managed to get Emergency Accommodation please join the Homeless in Kapiti Facebook group as commenting will be turned off here due to unnecessary rude and uninformed comments from previous posts. The link for the Facebook group is
www.facebook.com...

If still no luck contact Rob McCann at KCDC.

An update on the on line petition. It will be closing on the 21 February. If you haven to signed yet go to

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
