New plastic iniiative
At a fellow Neighbourly NZ member's suggestion I started a new initiative today when doing my supermarket shopping. All loose fruit and veg were put in netting bags (my wife made 7 for $5) and a couple where plastic bags could not be avoided were emptied out at checkout into the same netting bags and the plastic containers given to the checkout operator with a message for the manager. I know some people think this sort of action is a waste of time but every little bit helps get the message across.
