2018 ETC apprentice of the year

A huge congratulations to all of the 2018 category winners at the ETC Engineering & Electrical Apprenticeship Awards. Taranaki’s Engineering Consortium (ETC) consists of 11 Taranaki businesses who work together to position the region as a centre of exportable engineering innovation and excellence building on the Taranaki’s world-class firms and dynamic supplier network.

Collectively the group employs over 1000 people, many of whom started their employment journey as apprentices. “The apprentices celebrated at the awards are the future leaders of our industry and our region. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
