The repair crew will be working 24/7 until the pipe is fixed, after which they will flush the pipes of sediment and refill the water system.

Various sites over approximately 2.5 kilometres of State Highway 3 on Mt Messenger will have the existing road surface removed and a new asphalt surface applied. Repairs will take at least seven working days and will be carried out between 7.30am and 7.30pm. The improvements are subject to suitable weather conditions. There will be delays of possibly up to an hour.
