Over Easter weekend Taranaki Holden Club in association with Max Pennington's Auto City will host Holden vehicles and their owners as they attend the 2019 NZ Holden Nationals for the first time in New Plymouth.

On Saturday 20th April the TSB Stadium between 9am and 4pm will be the place to be for all Holden enthusiasts to take in a jam packed event covering the 70 year history of the Generals finest from down under.

This event will feature many rare and collectable vehicles including Brock, Walkinshaw, and many rarely unseen classics of days gone by, and that's not all as well as our National event you are invited to bring your pride and joy along and display it in our car park Show 'n' Shine area.

At 2pm a patient extraction car accident exercise will be held involving Fire, Ambulance and Police personnel to demonstrate what is involved in their daily duties.

But that's not all, on site will be food for the hungry, a race simulator for racer at heart, train ride for the little ones and trade displays.

As Ian Steele stood and looked at his $70,000 boat half submerged in the water, he felt like there had been a death in the family. The Don, a 30ft fibreglass launch, sank while berthed at the New Plymouth Marina.

The sinking has brought back the surface calls for the marina to be given an upgrade, with one district councillor calling the current facilities the worst in the country, while another boat owner says he spends thousands keeping his vessel in Auckland because he's not satisfied with what's offered here.

What do you think? Does our marina need an upgrade?
