Rosa Scaffidi - Lunchtime concerts @ Whiteley
The talented and amazing pianist Rosa Scaffidi will be performing next month as part of the lunchtime concert series. Several of the adult members of the Val Deakin Dance Theatre, as well as the 5- and 7-year-old Bliss sisters, will be dancing to a selection of music by Debussy, Satie and Poulenc. Some very well know pieces will be on the programme, and some less familiar ones as well. Because of the lovely venue, this will be a site-specific performance.
The performance will be on Wednesday, October 8th at 12:10 pm. Entrance by donation. Note your calendars!! :)

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
