Taranaki Chamber Music Contest, Wednesday 5th June - free entry!
The annual Taranaki Chamber Music Contest for school chamber music groups will be held on Wednesday 5th June at the Methodist Centre (Whiteley Memorial Church). The contest involves 140 young musicians from 7 high schools performing in 35 chamber groups. Due to the large number of entries the contest will be held in 3 separate sessions starting at 2pm, 4.30 pm and 7pm.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be entertained by some of Taranaki's top young musicians in instrumental and vocal ensembles. This is part of Chamber New Zealand's country wide competition and the winning group from Taranaki will then compete in regional semi finals in Auckland. Entry is free.
