As our lives regain some sort of normality following our nationwide home lockdown it seems that many have used the enforced down time to renew or learn new handcraft skills. Over the past weeks we've seen very high interest in our bamboo fabric range with many orders for our fabric sample packs by home and trade customers. With uses as diverse as lingerie, sportswear and sanitary items the softness, absorbency and odour combatting qualities of bamboo ticks plenty of boxes for possible uses. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
