I google plumber + new Plymouth - found a link to this site, chose a tradie, great job, hence promised to give feedback but Neighbourly asks me to sign in, then "disappears" the guy after I'm logged in.. what the actual???
* strike 1
then try to create feedback as a recommendation for a "new tradie" but the site gives me the serious runaround
* strike 2
then have to spend another 10 minutes finding how to post due to the less than sub par lackluster site layout.
* strike 3 - If Neighbourly doesn't improve it's site, it's not going to be about much longer. It's making itself redundant & I take no joy in saying that. :(

We know that we have an amazing Hospice here in Taranaki, this service is amazing because it is free for those who are in most need of their services. The staff and volunteers who support Hospice are the most accommodating and work with sincere heart.
To do this work and ensure that this continues to be open to all for free there is a great need to raise funds and the need to do so is even greater this year.

Recently Jessica Sinclair joined us on our radio show Volly Voices and shared how important volunteers are in the shops to help raise funds as well as talks about the upcoming Antiques and Collectable Auction and how this fundraising event is so vital to the organisation.

Jessica also shares what work goes on in the background, from the warehouse staff spotting potential items and putting them aside to the selection of items and the support that they receive from their Volunteer Tom Philipson who appraises items of special interest. This is just the start of the process, they are then photographed and a description given and a catalogue is put together and uploaded onto the website Hospicetaranaki.org.nz for all to view.
The event is being held on Sunday June 29th, 2025 at 10am @ The Devon Hotel – Hobson Room with viewing from 10am until 12 noon when the auction starts. There is also an option to be an absentee bidder by emailing Rose Whittaker rose.whitaker@hospicetaranaki.org.nz before 3pm on Friday 27th June, 2025 with details of your bid.

The catalogue online has a photo of each item together with the catalogue number and a brief description. There are treasures like vintage wooden toys, Chinese porcelain and Lladro figures, fine Crystal table lamp, Carlton ware, a Fun Ho flat deck truck & Tractor and Steiff Teddy bear and pair of vintage Needle work tapestry portraits and 1903 NZ illustrated medical guide to a selection of vintage cow & goat bells and many things in between – in fact a total of 243 items in this catalogue

If you are looking for something a little different (that you won’t find in most shops) for your home, look no further and put the date into your diary

Where can you learn more? If you are keen to learn more about Hospice Taranaki and volunteering, a Volly Voice session is aired on Access Radio on Sunday at 2pm. This show is also available by going to either Access Radio Taranaki website, these recordings can be found under Community and scroll down to Volly Voices or to Volunteering New Plymouth website and look under Volunteers and Volly Calls and there will be a link to the podcast Hospice Taranaki published 08/06/2025

The good news is, the Covid vaccine can help protect you from serious illness. It’s free, and recommended for you and many others as long as you haven’t had the vaccine, or Covid, in the last 6 months.

To book your vaccination, or talk to your healthcare provider.
