Nelson council has been granted $1.7 million in Government funding for the restoration of the Maitai river, from reservoir to river-mouth, in particular for native riparian plantings and weed-control. Do you spend any time along the Maitai river? Do you have any hopes for the regenerative efforts?

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
