Slow-down in the centre city?
Nelson Council is asking for public feedback on proposals to reduce the speed limit in the CBD, on Selwyn Pl, and on 36 residential streets around Nelson that have no footpath on at least one side of the road. People can give their thoughts on limits like 20kmh, 30kmh, or 40kmh on most streets.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
