One option could be to encourage owners of holiday rentals to let their homes to local residents instead of tourists. If you own a holiday let, would you consider letting to locals to help ease the pressure on the rental property market?

We are due to travel early next month. We are now considering if it is wise to do so in the light of covid 19. I contacted Air New Zealand to ask what would happen to the money we have paid in advance if we chose not to travel (self isolate) or were prevented from traveling due to government decree. The AirNZ telephonist Daniel was very clear that Air New Zealand would keep our money, some $2200 under all circumstances if we did not travel and we would have to pay again when it was considered safe to travel. No other options.
It is very hard to feel any simpathy at all for an airline crying povity due to covid 19 given there complead lack of consideration for travelers forced to change their plans.
Does anyone have any ideas or advice in a matter such as this?

Lights run on 12volt, solar panels to charge batteries, 240volt power runs fridge. There is a 3 way fridge freezer available (not installed) to go with it if desired. Cooking is by gas oven and hob and fitted microwave oven. Hydraulic slide-out extends dining living area. Has current self containment and electrical certificates. Well suited for use as sleep-out, tiny home, cabin, extra bedroom etc.
Price $39,000 truck and fifth wheeler. Would sell fifth wheeler alone for $32,000
