Artificial intelligence programs such as ChatGPT are here to stay - the question now is, how will they shape the future? Will the use of AI to complete daily tasks, particularly school work, impact cognitive abilities and creativity?

Recent work out of a MIT Media Lab suggests that people who used ChatGPT have lower brain engagement than those who did not when writing their essays. While the MIT Media Lab work has driven headlines recently, others have been quick to remind us that the fear of technology is nothing new.

We want to know: Is AI an addition to the technological toolbox, or should we be having bigger conversations about the impact of AI technology?

The road up the Bluff is closed, but Stafford Drive is open to the Ruby Bay Store and Ruby Bay Kitchen. Come along for music starting 4pm Sunday 13 July. The Store opens from 3pm.
Hobnail are three time finalists at the New Zealand Music Awards (Best Folk Album and Best Country Song twice). They celebrated 30 years of active service in 2024, and now in 2025 are touring across New Zealand with their new album by core members Rob Joass (vocals, guitar, mandola) Jo Moir (vocals, violin) and Hamish Graham (vocals, guitars, percussion). The album features reworked versions of some of their much loved originals as well as some crowd favourite Kiwi and Australian cover versions. These songs highlight the vocal and instrumental interplay between these three exceptional musicians. 'Refreshingly down-to-earth, and lovely with vocals so tightly knit they could be family.' Mike Alexander, NZ Herald.
With“Jo Moir’s barnstorming fiddle”, great songs and spectacular harmonies, Hobnail’s live show will make your heart sing!
