Don't Mix TPS Cables and Polystyrene Insulation

Weber from Hertz Electrical Ltd

As the title say "Don't Mix TPS cables and polystyrene insulation"
In my career, I saw this mistake a lot. Houseowners solve the heating problem and start an electrical problem. There is a chemical reaction between TPS cables and polystyrene when they touch each other. No problem for the polystyrene insulation but highly dangerous for the TPS cable that becomes brittle and turns to a fire hazard. It's possible to have a visual check, as in the picture, it's visible the cable has already started to notch a hole on the polystyrene meaning that the TPS cables are or will be chemically damaged and have to be replaced. An option for the replacement is a non-migratory TPS, known as Blue TPS or removing the polystyrene and replacing for another insulation type and reinstalling the electrical cables with a standard TPS.
Please lock at “Energy Safety - August 2017 ” link attached.
If you are not sure and you need an inspection please don't hesitate and call an electrician.
Please feel free to contact me as well.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
