Drones flying over private property
Recently some young people from a nearby house got a drone and proceeded to fly it over neighbouring properties. When spoken to , they were clearly quite ignorant about the various rules and regulations surrounding drone operation. ie flying over private property without permission is not allowed. Sadly they seemed to think these rules did not apply to them and they could fly wherever. I have spoken to all involved ( including a parent) and hopefully that is the end of the matter. Drone use is increasing and I make this posting to alert people to be aware of their rights and responsibilities as am quite sure this issue will present itself again in the future ( and may have done so already). Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Calling all those in Wheelchairs
Hi, I'm Simon .... a 44 yr old wheelchair user who wants to meet others in a similar position as myself (particularly a woman). I've been a sole parent now for almost 18 years and my son has just left the nest, so I thought it was time to start on the next stage of my life. I have cerebral palsy that effects just my legs (kinda the reason I can't walk) sooooooo if any of you are interested in getting to know me, flick me a message. I enjoy spending time with my son when he comes to visit and my pets (1 cat and 2 birds), I also enjoy building computers as well as a bit of gaming/watching TV too.
