Nelson Hospital Care
Today's Mail main front page story of the teenager who suffered horrific injuries to her feet etc when landing on rocks when attempting to jump into the river in the Aniseed valley last summer has my heart felt sympathy and I hope she fully recovers. However, she is described as a "feisty and outspoken teenager" and her criticism of the nursing staff is unjustified in my experience. Her wish for a private room in a public hospital is an impossible ask , especially for a six month stay. She may have got that in Manuka St.but unless ACC came to the party the cost would be quite horrendous.I wish her well and hope her ongoing accommodation and care requirements are to her satisfaction without complaint as it seems to me that the appropriate service staff are trying to do their best for her.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
