Nelson City Council - sea level rise
Nelson City Council has obviously decided that sea level rise is less of a problem than it was, as they have removed my house inundation notice from the LIM report that they issued last November. They were using a 2m rise for all their planning. However it has dropped to 1.5m.
I rather think this has more to do in wanting to push through a $44M state of the art, "better than Te Papa", Vanity, Eco Building Project on the river front, creating lots of waste and using "mitigation" to stop the sea coming in, rather than hoping the sea will stop rising!
Poll: Should upgraded heritage buildings reflect the different eras and updates they’ve gone through over time?
Nelson City Council is working to restore the glasshouse at Broadgreen House, which has begun to crack and buckle.
We want to hear your thoughts: should heritage restoration aim to keep buildings looking as they originally did, or should it reflect the different eras and updates they’ve gone through over time?
