I was in the Philippines recently. It rained and rained. My friend Ana's place was already leaking in the rain but then it got flooded throughout.
I have created a Give-a-little page for her in order to help her move from her flooded home into a dry home so she and her daughter have a safe place to live.
Ana is a 41 year old mother in the Philippines. She is currently living near Manilla, far from her home in Leyte in order to support her daughter at university. Ana does not have the qualification to get a decent job and relies on selling breakfast on the street. This provides a barely sufficient income. Her current two room rental leaks badly in the rain and she wants to move to somewhere drier and closer to the university. Recently due to extra heavy rains her entire neighbourhood flooded. This flooded her house throughout. She has no money to move. I want to raise enough funds for her to move and to help her survive the rest of the year.
Here is the link to the page.

just a quick update, my partner spoke to th head of doc in nelson who referred him onto another doc worker, he asked about the website we were given to use to register the interest of those people who were keen to become volunteers to search for the south island kokako in the nelson and surrounding areas, apparently the website we were given isnt designed for people to register their interest in helping with the search, only log in a sighting of the bird or those who would like to sponser the search,he is still looking for volunteers to help,,after that he will arrange a meeting time place day for the volunteers to have a get together and sort out some training and an area to do it in
please do contact me though the neighbourly leave name and contact detail so he can get in touch with you

Hi Neighbours
Can anyone recommend a carpet layer for a very small job stretching and re-fixing some carpet round a doorway which was taken up from the edge strip during a recent renovation?
