Do you support the ban on smoking and vaping in cars with children?
The Government intends to make it illegal to smoke and vape in vehicles when people younger than 18 are inside. But police say it would be dishing out fines those who could least afford to pay them. To read more, click here

In October 2016 I had cause to call the Ambulance for my husband. We were living in Waipuk and it was a weekend so nothing was open. The Ambulance attended but said they couldn't take Rhys to the hospital as he didn't meet their Criteria. I drove him up and later that day he was diagnosed with a massive brain tumor. He died 10 weeks later! Last year I had cause to call the Ambulance for my 87 yr old Father who had had a fall and was unwell but the Ambulance Service refused to attend so I had to put him in the car and take him to Wellesley Road for attention myself. This week my Daughter, the mother of two young children, was suffering pain. She saw a Doctor first thing Friday morning and two hours later had a massive pain attack. Her partner rang the Ambulance but she didn't meet their Criteria so they didn't attend. So exactly what is the Criteria and why do we pay a subscription for a service that the Ambulance probably won't attend. Has any one else had similar experiences?

So instead of a plain ham and cheese sandwich on sliced bread, try folding slices of ham and cheese into wedges of crunchy baguette or a soft bap. Save time and stress by using Mainland’s convenient sliced cheese – available in Edam, Tasty, Colby and Swiss to suit your family’s taste.
Head to mainland.co.nz for some quick and easy cheesy ideas.
