Looking for a handy person
Are you good at finding solutions? A retired builder or handy person?
We are in Onekawa and looking for a handy person to help my elderly parents with a small job.
They have found a leak that has rotted the floor boards (under the carpet - 1m x 30cm) in one room. We have found the small extension 10+ years ago was not done correctly and a board was laid directly onto soil - causing the rot over time.
Any advice or assistance would be much appreciated.
Please Private message for details and to make a time to pop in. Happy to pay for your time if it can save my dad from further injury to his back, thank you.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
