Knit your Art Deco outfit

Denise from Marewa

The more I got into it, the more I needed the clothes but could not afford to buy any. Lucky for me, knitting really took off in the 1930s and there are thousands of free 1930s patterns online. Some of my favourite sites are:

freevintageknitting.com they don't have the dates on but if you google the name of the pattern book, you might find the date. Anything from a book called 'Minerva Styles The Future' is 1936

subversivefemme.com... an Australian site

vintageknittingpatternarchive.com...

thevintagepatternfiles.blogspot.com...

vintagepurls.co.nz... a New Zealand site

There are many more. If the temperatures we have lately are anything to go by, we just might be needing cardigans or boleros this year. We are lucky in that we have quite a few wool shops in the Bay and if you don't have any fine needles in your stash, the Op Shops have loads.
