Submissions for Eskdale Park
Hi Everyone, Here is the Eskdale Park draft reserve management plan. Please have a look over it and go to the HDC website at the link below, to read about the plan in detail. The council is now accepting submission on the draft RMP. This is our opportunity to say what we like about the plan and what we do not like about the plan. Please take this opportunity seriously as it will effect our park for the future. Everyone's thoughts and opinions need to be voiced to HDC by sending in a submission. Submissions needs to be received by HDC by September 2, 2022. If you need help with your submission please reach out to Friends of Eskdale Park on FB or through email at saveeskdalepark@gmail.com. We are happy to help. If you have questions about the plan please email Rachel Stuart of HDC at rachels@hdc.govt.nz. Lets come together as a community on this and all send in our submissions to HDC.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
