Blackcurrants are hardy....I have never had them get disease problems. They are deciduous and produce bunches of black currants in the Summer. Lovely for making jam, or blackcurrant drinks. You do not need to top and tail them as we do Gooseberries.
They grow to not much more than and metre and a half.

Pickup is in Kuripuni
Thanks for looking.
The photos of the fruits are from the parent plants. The one for sale is in the pot.

These days, we’re getting pretty creative about how we do it too. The latest idea? You can actually buy a symbolic piece of one of New Zealand’s most remote islands as part of the Auckland Island Restoration Project.

If you had a bit of spare cash, would you 'buy' into the project?
And maybe the bigger question — should we be looking at doing the same kind of thing for wildlife refuges on our main islands too?

This madness it has to stop as it has nothing to do with NZ but for Guy Fawkes who was trying to blow up the parliament in London. I hope that our government stops the private sales of fireworks to protect our animals and give our firefighters a rest from unwanted fires.
