Discoloured water in parts of town. Has this affected you?

Piers Fuller Reporter from News of Wairarapa

There have been reports of discoloured water coming out of the taps in Kuripuni-Dixon St areas of Masterton.
Council says a contractor has flushed the mains by running a hydrant. This is normal practice to clear any dislodged sediment in the mains causing discolouration, with the high pressure flow carrying out any lose material.
A council spokesman assured residents that residual chlorine in the system prevents any disease-causing bugs being present in the mains.
Hopefully this has sorted the problem.
