Community Engagement Advisor from Metlink: On Our Way

As part of the national response to COVID-19 alert level 4 Metlink will make all rail and bus services free until June.

Public transport will continue to be available for essential service workers, and to enable communities to access supermarkets, pharmacies and health facilities.

Show your appreciation for all our essential and frontline workers

Most of our street came out 7pm last night to cheer and clap for all essential and frontline workers. We will be there again tomorrow night.
Thank you so much to each and everyone of you who is playing a part in keeping NZ going in these trying and uncertain times.Including parents who are trying to work from home and cope with caring for their children at the same time.

We’re heading into winter, and with households self-isolating together, there’ll be more cooking at home, and more use of open fires, heaters, and dryers - all things which can increase fire risk.

New Zealanders can be confident that Fire and Emergency is well-prepared and ready to respond to emergencies as usual during the nationwide self- isolation period.

Please call 111 if you have a fire, we will ask you whether anyone at the address is self-isolating or has a confirmed case of COVID-19. Where this is the case, we already have necessary measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety including protective clothing, gloves, masks, safety glasses and mask.
