Kiwibank policy - headsup for Widows or widowers
This is not a good look for Kiwibank and I pass this on in case anyone else may be affected. After my husband died I changed a small fixed term deposit which we had in Kiwibank from both our names into my name. We had the money in a fixed term deposit at $3.45%. Unknown to me the bank classified the first person under whose name the fixed deposit was as the principal person, so they put our money into another back up loan account with a neglible interest of 0.5 %. I have found this out nearly 3 years later and have calculated I have lost about $150.00 approximately. When asked about it they\ authorities said they had let me know by email but as I was not set up for email apparently I didn't receive it.
In summary if your spouse dies and you are not the first name of the fixed term deposit, it is bank policy to put your money in a virtually no interest account.
Yes I am going to follow it up to the complaints section of Kiwibank.
Mitre 10 $20 Store Card Boxing Day Promotion
If you shopped at Mitre 10 Masterton on Boxing Day, redeemed a Mitre 10 Gift Card, but was refused a $20 Store Card for every $100 spent, contact Mitre 10 Customer & Store Support at customersupport@mitre10.co.nz.
Mitre 10 Masterton staff misinterpreted the promotion’s terms & conditions, as can be seen in the screenshot of the email I received in response to my query after my partner redeemed a $200 Mitre 10 Gift Card and was told she was ineligible for two $20 Store Cards
