Did you know that three families lose a loved one to suicide every two days? You can help change this by donating to Mike King's work.

The current “harden up, stay staunch and let’s not talk about it” attitude is a problem. By changing this attitude, lives will be saved. Every dollar raised enables Mike to continue his vital work with communities across NZ.

The Appliance Shed is leading a fundraising campaign to support Mike King's Key To Life Trust. Read more about the long-standing relationship Appliance Shed has with Mike King here

The Key to Life Trust equips our nation's young people to check in on their mates and remind them it’s okay to ask for help. It’s important we all feel valued and know that someone has our backs when times are tough. Please donate and make a difference in your community.

Thank you for your support!

The brainchild of Carterton Rotarian Vickie Pickering, the inaugural Water-Mart Talent Wairarapa event was a huge success. Vickie was ably supported by Nikki King, major sponsorship from Water-Mart and a team of Carterton Rotarians to make this a sell out.
There was a wonderfully diverse range of entries from singers, dancers, musicians, a drummer and spoons’ player with ages from 9 - 85 years. Heats were run earlier in the month and from a very high standard of entries 7 over 14 years and 9 finalists 14 and under were selected.
The winners were
Over 14 years
1st singer Courtney Neara - $1000 cash plus a Fuzzbox Design voucher to the value of $1500
Runners up were dancers Isabella Fisher & Amelia Butcher - $500 cash
14 years and under
1st dancer Kallum Armstrong - $500 plus a personalised poster
Runners up singers Triple A - $250 and Geraldine Inder Dancers - $250
People’s Choice was singer Jade Bradnock –Copthorne Voucher

A special thank you to judges Stefan Brown, Stephanie Barrett and Hemi Walker, and Ron Mark who stepped in for a voiceless Nikki King as MC and all the local businesses and individuals who gave such generous sponsorship.

Is an important day. 10:00 a.m. Carterton Events Centre - WAG will be presenting our submission on the proposed massive rate hike for Wairarapa flood protection over the next ten years. Come along and support the team. Our approach is the usual one of defining the problem but also proposing a way forwards that could help solve it - so we hope GWRC will see this in a positive light but having support in the room plays a very big part of the outcome. Some people will be over the hill and far away but if you're this side of the hill, come along for an hour and hear and cheer. There will also be quite a number of other local folks and organisations presenting today and it will be very interesting to hear them too.

See you there Carterton Events Centre, around 10 o'clock onwards.
