All funds raised will be given to the Lions Clubs New Zealand Child Mobility Foundation (CMF), which supports children who suffer from Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida or similar disabilities. These conditions limit mobility, such as being unable to balance the body, unable to sit or walk, or having difficulties moving arms and hands.
Children feel the need to be active, to take part in everyday life. We can give them the chance to play with their brothers and sisters and friends, to take part in sports activities and to experience hands-free walking with the aid of a Hart Walker – a deceptively simple walking aid that transforms the child from dependent to independent, in a flash; from a life spent mainly indoors to something more closely resembling a “normal” childhood.
The Hart Walker provides hands-free mobility and allows children the opportunity to experience walking, often for the first time in their lives. Health benefits can include improved circulation, respiration, digestive system, muscle control and improved balance and co-ordination. The Hart Walker costs NZ$9,850 and attracts no government funding in New Zealand and therefore relies on the generosity of us all.

Help us to help these children – join us for a walk on Sunday (entry is $10 per person) or give a little so that CMF can fund this life-changing equipment. givealittle.co.nz...
