Need to connect more often?

Ann from Relationship Wellbeing Specialist

With busy work schedules, family and friends to see, and maybe even kids to raise, it can be hard to find time to connect with your partner.

Well, there's gotta be away. But how?

One of our most important pieces of advice for couples is to create Rituals of Connection, which are predetermined activities that you and your partner choose to do together:

Go for a short walk every morning, or have breakfast together.
Have a stress-reducing conversation in the evening.
Make a monthly date night at your favourite restaurant.
Or even spend five minutes before bed saying thanks for things you've done to support each other.

It doesn't really matter what you choose to do, as long as both you and your partner enjoy it, agree to it, do it regularly and consistently, and find that it brings you closer together.

Create as many rituals as you'd like, both big and small. Once those rituals are built into your lives, then you'll have created reliable ways for you and your partner to connect.

Speed limits around NaeNae

Susan from Naenae

Hi Neighbors, Just a heads up, I have just received a $170 fine for driving at 50km on Rata Street Naenae on a SUNDAY Morning. I wrote to NZTA pointing out and sending in a photo of sign stating that it was 30km on school days between those hours, but they said that the whole of Rata Street and some surrounding streets are 30km 24/7 and have been for over a year. Did I miss this been advised by council? Always good to be informed. Merry Christmas to all
