(original article published by Megan Connolly on 10 July 2019)

"The new defibrillator was donated by the ARL Lawyers Charitable Trust and will be with the operational support vehicle in case of emergency call outs. Vehicles can be called out at any moment to any part of the valley so it's important to know that every area is covered, said Dave Wyles Jones of the Wainuiomata Volunteer Fire Brigade"

The defibrillator is a part of a full emergency first response kit being put together by the Brigade.

Through it's Charitable Trust, ARL Lawyers provide opportunities and tangible items to individuals, groups and organisations in the local Lower Hutt community.

This work will take about 20 weeks from 28 August 2019 to Mid-January 2020. Hours of work will generally be 7am-6pm Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays worked if necessary. The construction work will largely be undertaken within the road reserve within Duncan Street.

Traffic management is changing throughout the project and we will continue to advise each major change of traffic management.

On 28 August, southbound traffic on Duncan Street will be detoured around the worksite via Tawa Terrace to the Tawa Street roundabout (red arrow). Northbound traffic will be one-way from the Tawa Street roundabout to the Tawa Terrace intersection (green arrow).

While work areas will be fenced off, we will make sure that you have access to your property at all times. There may be occasions when the contractor needs to gain access to your property although we’ll give you at least 24 hours’ notice of this. If you have any concerns with access, you can contact our project team anytime. On-street parking in the area alongside the worksite will be restricted and so we ask you to please not park your vehicle within the coned areas.
