Red Card - Red Face

Michael from Trentham

How dare that Australian ref red card our Hurricanes Jordie Barrett.
The all-legs, towering and swift as a giraffe being chased by a lion Barrett who can kick goals from 97 metres, is an angel disguised as an All Black on occasions. And an occasion was last Sunday.

Barrett who over extended a leg in order to retain balance from flying in the air to take a catch, got the sprig part of a boot stuck in someones face. The someone wasn't hurt but the ref along with his Aussie ref panel decided he had to go as it all was deliberate, dangerous and damaging.

So he had to appear before a tribunal who had the power to banish Barrett from any further 2021 internationals. But the body of men agreed with Barrett's defence team that Barrett had been wrongly condemned and confined to the sideline and was entirely innocent (and angelic).

And Jordie is now allowed to rejoin his brothers in arm, Beauden and Scott and the terrific threesome can wreak havoc against all comers again starting this coming weekend. Hope Jordie gets in the starting 15 as he is a better more talented all round full back than that Damian fellow who can only smile when he kicks goals or when he misses kicking goals.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.

This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.

We want to know: Should this be rolled out across all coastal cities in Aotearoa? And more importantly… would you get involved? 💚

Want the details? The Post has you covered.
