Upgrades to a wastewater main in the Belmont Regional Park - expect diversions
We are working hard to improve drinking water, wastewater and stormwater systems around the Wellington region. As a part of this, we are working on improvements to a wastewater main that passes through Belmont Regional Park in Lower Hutt, near the Korokoro Stream.
If you are visiting the area between 5–28 February, you may notice diversions on the walkways, and construction activity in the area.
(Please note: If you’re planning to visit Belmont Regional Park on Waitangi Day, the Korokoro walkway will be open as usual with no diversions.)
For two nights, later in the month, we’ll also need to close the walkway completely overnight – we will let you know the exact dates closer to the time.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this construction work may cause. Please bear with us while we complete this project to deliver a more resilient wastewater system for Lower Hutt.
