CHLORINATION OF LOWER HUTT'S WATER SUPPLY CONTINUES. WATER REMAINS SAFE TO DRINK

Hutt City Council

Update 19 April 2017:  Last week one of the water wells in the Waterloo well field had a positive E.coli result and Wellington Water began chlorinating Lower Hutt’s unchlorinated water supply as a precaution.
Further testing of this well came back negative but as a further precaution Wellington Water is testing further across the water network and chlorination will continue while this happens.
Because the public bores at Buick Street and Dowse Square can’t be chlorinated, on advice from Regional Public Health they have been closed, again as a precaution during further testing. Read the background on our website www.huttcity.govt.nz...
