Kawakawa Bay residents asked to reduce their water use today
Watercare is asking Kawakawa Bay residents to minimise their water use today because extreme rainfall has flooded the local wastewater pump station.
Networks Manager Anin Nama says that by minimising water use, residents will reduce the volume of wastewater entering the wastewater network.
“Access to Kawakawa Bay is currently limited due to flooding and slips. Thankfully, we have the Fire Service assisting us with their pumps. But we really need the community’s support – please reduce your water use today by limiting bathing and laundry.”
