Te Puke Highway will be closed for one month from Tuesday 15 January until mid-February for installation of a culvert and some road pavement repair.

The closure, from Welcome Bay Road to Bell Road, is timed to ensure the work is completed before the start of the kiwifruit harvest season and before the new school year begins. Enabling work will begin on 8 January but will not affect traffic flows.

Changes to kerbside collections this Christmas

There will be no collections on Christmas Day and New Years Day. These collections will take place on the Saturday prior (Saturday 22 December and Saturday 29 December).​​ All other collection days remain as normal. Approved EGB rubbish bags will be accepted at our … View more

There will be no collections on Christmas Day and New Years Day. These collections will take place on the Saturday prior (Saturday 22 December and Saturday 29 December).​​ All other collection days remain as normal. Approved EGB rubbish bags will be accepted at our Athenree Recycling Centre (Waihi Beach) if you miss the kerbside rubbish collection over this period only.

** Hauraki District Council
Kerbside collection days will be one day later on the Christmas week, for all except Whiritoa's Monday collection. Collections will be unaffected on New Year 2019 week and will occur on a usual day. Extra collections for Whiritoa will commence Wednesday 27 Dec.
