Crossing the Waihou at Thames Museum
CROSSING The WAIHOU opens at Thames Museum on Saturday 1st August. The new display features craftsman model-maker Ted Egan’s award-winning replica of the historic Kōpū bridge’s swing span and photos and documentation related to the history of Waihou river traffic and the bridge’s construction. The single lane bridge was opened in 1928 and is a Category 1 listed place, as it is the only swing span bridge in New Zealand.
Join Ted Egan, members of the Museum management committee and volunteers, and story-teller Miss Rosalie for the opening of the display at 11am on Saturday 1st August. All welcome. Thames Museum, corner Pollen and Cochrane Streets is open 10am to 3pm Friday to Wednesday. Admission adult $5, child $2, family $10

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
