THAMES HERITAGE FESTIVAL AT HISTORIC KOPU BRIDGE
Thames Heritage Festival is on this weekend, 14th and 15th March, and at Historic Kōpu Bridge there is a Peace Cycle/Walk between 5pm and 7pm on Saturday 14th. This event will acknowledge the hardships that have befallen NZ and Australia in the past year. During the evening Rosalie the Thames Storyteller will tell the story of "Crossing the Waihou" and the events leading up to the bridge's construction in 1928. The bridge has proved hugely popular with Thames people over the last few weeks while it has been open for the use of riders in the Tour Aotearoa Cycling Challenge, for walking, cycling, photography shots and more.
