Tararu Flood Protection fundraising garage sales

Carolyn from Thames

A reminder that Tararu Flood Protection's fundraising combined garage sales continue tomorrow at 110 and 120 Wilson Street Thames, from 8am to noon. We have some great stuff left, including skirts, jackets and shoes to complete your SteamPunk the Thames outfit. Thanks to the many people who braved the bleak weather this morning, we are well on our way to completing our target to put down anti-erosion matting and reinstate the rocks along the seawall. All proceeds from the garage sales will go towards this target. Join us tomorrow for clothes, plants, small appliances, books, pictures, china and glasses and more. Sausage sizzle while stocks last at 110 Wilson Street.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
