Help spread Christmas cheer
Time is running out to help spread Christmas cheer to those in our communities doing it tough at this expensive time of the year.
Our Smiles for Christmas campaign, which is supported by Malcolm Wrigley Insurance Services, closes next week.
Franklin County News is collecting goodies for clients of Franklin Family Support Services, people in our towns who are struggling to make ends meet, let alone plan for Christmas.
Locals can drop non perishable food items, hardly used or new toys and books for boys and girls, and pamper items off to our office at 217 King St, Pukekohe, Franklin Family Support Services in Pukekohe, or under the Christmas tree at Pukekohe Library.
Franklin Family Support would appreciate donations of the kinds of things that say "I care" such as pretty soaps, deodorants, aftershaves and trinkets.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
