Heavy rain forecasted for the weekend
A slow moving front is expected to bring periods of heavy rain to Westland today and into tomorrow morning.
Heavy rain may cause streams and rivers to rise rapidly. Surface flooding and slips are also possible and driving conditions may be hazardous.
Valid: 25 hours from 10:00am Friday to 11:00am Saturday
Forecast: In addition to rain that has already accumulated, expect 150 to 200mm of rain to accumulate about the ranges, and 80 to 120mm near the coast. Peak intensities of 20 to 30mm per hour Friday evening and into the early hours of Saturday morning.
