Identifying when your furry friend is in pain🐕‍🦺🐈

Hamilton Small Animal Veterinary Centre

Sometimes it’s hard to tell if your pet is in pain, dogs and cats feel pain much like we do but tend to show it in different ways. 🐕🐩💕

Cats in particular tend to hide their pain, this is a natural survival mechanism. So it’s important to look out for signs that they’re unwell or in discomfort. The sooner you can determine there is an issue, the sooner you can seek help, thus keeping minor problems from turning into major ones.❤️

Take a look at the chart below and use as a guideline only to determine how your companion pet is feeling.

If you have any concerns and just require some advice or you need to make an appointment to see one of our vet team, then give us a call on 07 8492963.☎️☺️

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
