Meals on Wheels Drivers Needed!

Community Activator from Red Cross - Waikato Service Centre

This service supports elderly, ill and disabled people living at home who would otherwise struggle to provide healthy meals for themselves.
Volunteering is a fun and rewarding experience. Being a Meals on Wheels driver takes about two hours one day a week, fortnight or month, or even casually depending on your availability.
For further information please contact us on 07 849 0285 or email: waikato@redcross.org.nz

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the industrious out of it. You don't multiply wealth by dividing it. Government cannot give anything to anybody that it doesn't first take from somebody else. Whenever somebody receives something without working for it, somebody else has to work for it without receiving. The worst thing that can happen to a nation is for half of the people to get the idea they don't have to work because somebody else will work for them, and the other half to get the idea that it does no good to work because they don't get to enjoy the fruits of their labour
This is the conundrum we face in the current crisis with mass redundancies on the horizon . We follow the money and ask who pays indeed in the USA the dole out pay-out is more then some individuals previous wages while it might be a acknowledgement by their government of the inequities of previous labour laws it provides little incentive for most to return to work
With the enforced lockdown people have discovered a newer quieter more balanced live style , free form the stresses of the modern world an improved sense of well-being .
They no longer find joy in and endless grind to satisfy the demands of share holders especially when their loyalty is rewarded by being the first to be shoved out the door they will be motivated to find endeavours that fur fill their personal and family needs more
Those people and communities that have existed at the governments largesse sometimes for generations will find themselves further marginalised as a new motivated unemployed insist on a culture change with in our welfare agencies with little tolerance for those with a parasitic nature ever willing to feed off the host

Jacinda proudly exclaims we are a team of five million and that we are we will no longer have or tolerate spectators sitting in the stands enjoying the sport of our labours
