Tamahere Lions have a busy couple of months ahead - if you are interested and have an odd hour, come and join us?
16th May: Waikato, Dementia Waikato, fundraising collection at Hillcrest New World, (09.00 - 10.00)
16th May social: 5.00pm, history of Matangi at Matangi Dairy factory followed by hospitality at Good Union Cambridge
17th May: Targa Rally fundraising, Cambridge section. Aspen to Waterworks Road, road marshalling
June 6: Business meeting, 7pm The Punnet Cafe
June 8: Best Artisan Market (09.00 - 13.00), Tamahere Community Centre
Monies collected from non-specific fundraising will go towards building the Tamahere Lions Community BBQ on the recreation fields in Tamahere, near the Tamahere hub/wetland reserve

Police apologise to rest home alleged theft victim after failing to act
Police have apologised to a pensioner who caught a carer-turned-crook allegedly stealing cash, admitting there was more they could have done.
The about-face comes after the Waikato Times revealed the plight of rest home resident Lisa Allen, who set up a hidden-camera, capturing footage that appeared to show the caregiver opening her handbag and taking out a $50 note while the room was unattended.
