Warning. Possibly a scam
Today I received an email message supposedly from NZ Post advising that they had not been able to deliver a package because no-one was home. They gave an option for times for it to be delivered, at a cost of $1.60.
Since no-one here had ordered anything, I was suspicious. Also in the past if something was undeliverable there was usually a note left at the door or in the letterbox, not an email communication. (where did they get my email address anyway?) A tracking number was at the top of the communication, but when I entered this on NZ Post website it was an invalid number. I suspect that if I'd clicked on the delivery time option it would have led on to a place to enter my bank account details......
Has anyone else had this sort of email?

Vandalism is costing ratepayers - what can be done to better protect our public spaces?
Vandals have repeatedly damaged public amenities across the Waikato District, leaving ratepayers to pick up the bill. So far in 2025, the cost has climbed to nearly $123,000, reports the Waikato Times.
The council is urging residents to report vandalism as soon as possible.
