Thunderstorms are expected about northern and central areas of the North Island this afternoon and evening. About the central North Island areas of the Coromandel Peninsula, Waikato, Waitomo, Taumarunui, Bay of Plenty, Taupo, Taihape, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay, there is a moderate risk some of these thunderstorms could become SEVERE producing localised downpours of 25 to 40mm/hr and large hail 20 to 25mm in diameter.
Rainfall of this intensity can cause surface and/or flash flooding, especially about low-lying areas such as streams, rivers or narrow valleys, and may also lead to slips.
Driving conditions will also be hazardous with surface flooding and poor visibility in heavy rain. Large hail can cause significant damage to crops, orchards, vines, glasshouses and vehicles, as well as make driving conditions hazardous. Should severe weather approach or if you feel threatened, take shelter immediately.

Maybe it was the time you went to visit Santa and your little one didn't want a bar of it. Maybe it was a self-timed family shot that went horribly awry. Or a Christmas meal that was more a festive fail.

When i moved into our place the plants were just shrubs, they have been put in some areas so high you would need a ladder, the plants have grown past the brick wall and i cant get around the back to my clothes line as they have also grown outward and are touching my bedroom window. I would also need to find a way to dump the cuttings. Im a solo mum with a chronically ill child and have took on my baby nephew, so sadly money is tight. I also dont have any tools to do the graden. A pay dispute between Waikato bus drivers and Go Bus has escalated after 20 months of negotiations.
Buses were running on a Saturday schedule during Monday's protests.
The situation escalated when First Union members announced the wouldn't take fares on Waikato urban routes on Monday.
Go Bus said it would lock out workers and operate reduced services.
Drivers then blocked buses at the Transport Centre and Higgins Rd depot. They've said protests will continue as long as workers are locked out.
